CPH Banque.

UX/UI design | iOS, Android

2018 – 2019

A banking app for iOS and Android. App Store rating from 2.3 to 4.7.

The bank's mobile app was outdated and collecting bad reviews, so the bank rebuilt it from scratch with a small external team, reporting to C-level. As UX/UI designer, I covered everything from information architecture to the front-end that shipped.

Older users, a complex authentication flow, and functions from the old app that had to stay. The challenge was to make it simpler to use without losing trust.

Research

Stakeholder interviews and workshops, desk research, benchmarking and a survey. That led to an MVP: basic, but clear and easy to use, with a chatbot for extra clarification where needed.

The app

The old app lacked structure and consistency. I simplified and unified the key flows, added a biometric login for quick access, and built one design system for the whole app. Micro-interactions were prototyped in After Effects.

Meet Blue

Onboarding was confusing, especially for less tech-savvy customers. A chatbot, Blue, guides them through it step by step, with extra clarification where needed.

One design system

I worked with the developers from sketch to release and implemented designs in HTML, CSS and JS myself. After launch I stayed on to bring the web app in line with the mobile design.

Where it landed

The App Store rating went from 2.3 to 4.7. Customers and branches responded positively, and the work laid the base for a broader design system at CPH.
